The New Hanover Regional Medical Center Physician Group – Neurology has welcomed a new member to their group.
Dr. James S. McKinney, who specializes in vascular neurology, will care for inpatients at the medical center’s main campus and will also serve as the medical director of the NHRMC stroke program.
“Dr. McKinney brings a level of expertise to the program that will provide immeasurable benefits to our patients,” said Matthew Kalp, MD, PhD, of NHRMC Physician Group – Neurology. “He joins us in our dedication to providing high quality patient care and will help to elevate our team as we continue to provide comprehensive neurologic services to the region.”
McKinney earned his medical degree from St. George’s University Medical School in Grenada, WI. He recently served as the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Comprehensive Stroke Center’s medical director as well as an associate professor at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School’s neurology department in New Brunswick, NJ. McKinney is a fellow of the American Heart Association and is board certified in vascular neurology and neurocritical care.
