WILMINGTON — Sherri Paige Setzer (Honeybug), 79, slipped peacefully on to Glory on April 28, 2025, at home in Wilmington, North Carolina after bravely fighting Alzheimer’s dementia.
Born on December 16, 1945, in Hickory, North Carolina, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and enduring love.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach for many years, Sherri found her strength through her faith and her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sherri was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Setzer. She still considered herself a married woman all these years they have been apart, and it is a comfort to know their love story has no end Because HE Lives and that they are together, praising their Savior, once again! Hallelujah! She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Paige and Patricia Travis; and her parents, Lawrence Paige and Lucille Lingle. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Christie S. Paschall (Robin), Kimberly S. Harrell (Charles), Julie S. Pinkston (George), and Trae Setzer (Beverly), 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren! Sherri is also survived by her brother, Ken Paige (Elaine), and sister Judi Roberts (Michael). In addition, through 3 generations, spanning more than 50 years, countless children (and their parents) consider themselves blessed to have been taken care of by precious Honeybug. All of their lives are a testament to the values she held dear and the love she so generously gave.
A special thank you to her caregivers in the last year of her life. Her daughter Kim Harrell and husband, Charles Harrell lovingly cared for her 24/7 in their home and the rest of her family will be eternally grateful for the sacrifices they made for love. Also, to her special helpers, Nell & Brookelyn from Visiting Angels, thank you for loving our Mama and taking such good care of her!
May Sherri’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
