WILMINGTON — Eileen Elizabeth Tracey passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 83. Born on August 21, 1941, in Hackensack, New Jersey, Eileen’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to caring for others, her love for her family, and her joyful spirit.
Throughout her remarkable career as a Registered Nurse, Eileen served numerous hospitals and dialysis centers across New Jersey and North Carolina with compassion and diligence. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her kindness and empathy, qualities that touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues alike.
Beyond her professional life, Eileen found joy and inspiration in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to sew, crafting beautiful pieces with care and creativity. The beach was her haven, where she cherished moments of peace and reflection. Her generous spirit also led her to volunteer in her community, offering help wherever it was needed.
Eileen was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where her faith provided her strength and comfort throughout her life. Her presence there was a testament to her deep spirituality and commitment to service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph P. Tracey and Marion (Lynch) Tracey; her brother Dennis Tracey; her sister Patricia Francis; and her beloved husband, Fred Schock. Her legacy of love and resilience lives on through her surviving family: her daughter Kristy Kidney and husband Billy of Wilmington; her son Ralph Hassard of New York; and her cherished grandchildren, Billy Kidney, Shannon Kidney, Samantha Hall, and Simone Hassard.
In honoring Eileen’s wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Eileen’s life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and kindness. Her memory will forever inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
