HAMPSTEAD — Cameron David Oxford, 32, of Hampstead, passed away on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 at his home.
He was born on August 30th, 1992, in Barberton, Ohio, to Herschol Wayne Oxford II and Judith (Salay) Oxford.
Cameron Oxford was a sweet, mischievous, and curious child. His smile would light up the room and his laugh was contagious, bringing joy to everyone there. He grew into the most kind and generous man. Cameron had this incredible gift – the ability to make everyone around him feel seen, feel supported. He was the first to offer a hand, a listening ear, a comforting word. He poured his energy into fixing our problems, big or small, often before we even knew we had them. Cameron always had an impressive amount of knowledge and knowhow when it came to anything, but most especially cars, motorcycles and machinery. He touched many lives in his time here with us, and he will be eternally missed.
In addition to his parents, Cameron is also survived by his sisters, Haley Hanegan and Haley Oxford; his niece, Hazley Hanegan; his nephew, Zachary Buie Jr.; his grandmothers, Joyce Rossiter and Joyce Smith; his grandfather Joseph Salay Sr.; his great grandfather, Ernest Groskopf Sr; his great grandmother Bobbi Groskopf; special friend Kat Voli; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other family and friends.
Cameron was predeceased by his grandfathers, Raymond Oxford Sr., Larry Kirk, and Richard “Smitty” Smith; and his grandmother Laura Oxford.
We have made a Facebook group for memories to be shared. The family invites all to join and share. It is called Light for Cam.
His memorial service will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Merrell McKoy officiating.
Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family here.
