HAMPSTEAD — Scott C. Stiffel, born on April 14, 1964, in East Meadow, NY, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 60. His life was a testament to dedication, love, and adventure.

Scott proudly served his country as a member of both the United States Marine Corps and the Army, embodying the values of honor and commitment.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Scott found joy and solace as a boat captain, navigating the waters with a sense of freedom and passion that was contagious to all who joined him. His love for the sea was only rivaled by his devotion to his family.

Scott was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. To carry on his legacy and memory are his devoted wife of 35 years, Diane, daughter Candace, son Scott Stiffel II and wife, Sara, and his grandchildren, Scott C. Stiffel III and Spencer Stiffel, parents Arthur Stiffel III and Allene Stiffel, his older brother Arthur Stiffel IV and wife Heather. Scott will also be remembered by his large and close-knit extended family, including many cherished aunts and uncles and a host of cousins who brought joy, laughter and support to his life.

For Scott, family was everything; they always felt his love and knew they were protected under his watchful care.

A Memorial Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Hampstead, NC on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 am, followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Salters Haven Clubhouse to share memories and stories of Scott, celebrating a life well-lived and deeply cherished. All are welcome to come for lunch.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare of Wilmington in Scott’s honor, so others may receive the compassionate care that Scott valued.

Scott’s life was an inspiration to all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering loyalty. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
