BURGAW — Lou Harrell Hall, age 70, passed from her earthly life on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 8, 1954, in Pender County, the daughter of Carlton Harrell and Jewell Hill Harrell. In addition to her parents Lou was preceded in death by her infant son, Richard Hall.
Lou is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald H. “Scrappy” Hall; son, Don Hall; granddaughters, Hannah Hall and Caroline Hall; brothers, Carl Harrell and Sam Harrell; many extended family and friends.
Lou graduated from Burgaw High School and East Carolina University and worked for over 40 years as an advocate for and the betterment of many children. For 20 years she worked in NC Child Support Services. For the next 23 years Lou was Chief Operating Officer for Systems and Methods, Inc.
Lou was always, even during her illness, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Lou’s courageous spirit will long be remembered, and Lou was loved and will be greatly missed.
