OAK ISLAND — Robert Joseph “Bob” McCauley, 82, of Oak Island, passed away March 23, 2025.
Mr. McCauley was born June 27, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Edward and Anna McCauley. Bob was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and was a member of the Oak Island Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bob loved to talk about history, politics, his coin collection, and his Tasty Cake Pies.
Survivors include his three children, Colleen Weideman, Rob McCauley, and Shannon Maier; two grandchildren, Adrienne Maier and Brielle Christman; two brothers, Edward McCauley and wife Mary, and Eugene McCauley and wife Karen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann “Peggy” McCauley.
The funeral mass will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport.
