WILMINGTON — Rhonda Gale Gore (Baker) of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was 74-years-old.
Rhonda was born on July 10, 1950 to the late Ruby (Creech) and Wesley Baker in Wake County, NC. She graduated from UNC Greensboro in May 1973 and married the love of her life, Sammy “Sam” Gore, in 1976. Rhonda and Sam went on to have a child, Amanda Gore.
Rhonda dedicated her life to caring for children of all ages and needs. She was a dedicated Special Education teacher with the New Hanover County school system for many years where she retired. She was also a passionate writer and reader who enjoyed gardening, traveling, and visiting the most magical place on Earth, Disney World.
Rhonda is remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.
She is survived by her husband Sammy “Sam” Gore and brother James Baker, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and bonus family. Rhonda was predeceased by her daughter Amanda “Mandy” Gore, born July 29, 1980, who passed away on September 23, 1996.
