WILMINGTON — Patricia Mason Woodard, 94, of Wilmington, NC, died peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center on March 20, 2025.
Pat was born in Asheville, NC on January 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Reverend Thomas McBee Mason and Laura Lucille Mills Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harry Patton Woodard, Jr., her sister Jewell Aline Nix and her daughter Cynthia Woodard Rivenbark.
Pat is survived by her children, Tommy Woodard (Lynn), Kitty King (Randall), and Laura Hearn (Dale). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tommy Brothers (Raina), Carrie Brothers, Emily Stallings, Graham Rivenbark (Nadia), David Hearn (Rachel) and Thomas Woodard. As well as 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
“He” Pat and “She” Pat raised their 4 children on the south end of Harbor Island at Wrightsville Beach and it was there that they made friendships that lasted a lifetime. Their house was always full of family, friends, love and laughter. Pat always had a quick wit, and it never faded. Even in the end, she still had us chuckling.
Pat was a member of Wrightsville United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She served on the Altar Guild, enjoyed singing in the Chancel Choir, and served in numerous other roles in the church.
She was also a Lifetime Member of the Harbor Island Garden Club and served as President for several of those years.
Pat was an avid bridge player and enjoyed the weekly fellowship with her dear friends and their bi-annual trips to the beach.
The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Tides at Bradley Creek Healthcare Center for their compassionate care. We especially want to thank Retina Simmons for her gentle and loving way with our Mom.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wrightsville United Methodist Church or Lower Cape Fear Lifecare.
