WILMINGTON — Warren Douglas Jones passed away gently on March 15, 2025 at the age of 82.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Kathleen Jones, his daughter Elizabeth Skidmore, his son Douglas Jones, daughter-in-law Susan Jones and 4 grandchildren Sarah, Jack, Brent & Dean. He was preceded in death by his father Rees Jones, mother Shirley Jones and son-in-law Tom Skidmore.

A Life Well-Lived
Born on October 12th, 1942 in Utica, NY, Warren grew up surrounded by love and instilled with strong values. Warren attended Cornell University where he received an undergraduate degree in Industrial Labor Relations and later an MBA from Syracuse University.

After completing his education, Warren began his career as a teacher but ultimately found his passion in public accounting at Coopers & Lybrand and fulfilled his dream of becoming a partner working in the New York, Boston, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Dallas offices where he retired from PwC in 1999. His public accounting retirement was short lived as he become the CEO of the Vialink Corporation, eventually retiring for good in 2003. Warren’s career was highlighted by his love of public accounting and a deep-seated commitment to the success and mentorship of others. This commitment and the relationships he built with others are his enduring professional and deeply personal legacy.

Warren was also known for his lifelong support of the Boy Scouts and charitable works. He was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, and world traveler who loved and lived life to its fullest with family and friends.

Memorial Service
A Memorial Service be held on March 21st, 2025 at the Frank H. Kenan Chapel in Landfall at 1PM with a reception immediately following for family and friends.
