WILMINGTON — June Carolyn Vick Croft, age 90, of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on March 2, 2025. She was born December 19, 1934 to Dr. Charles Lovell and Olive Jinnette Vick in Seaboard, NC.
June is survived by her son, Frank Brian Croft (m. Autumn Leigh Croft), of Morganton, NC; daughter, Catherine Croft Bernardo (m. Osvaldo Alberto Bernardo), of Columbia, SC; and son, Charles Vick Croft (m. Kari Ann Vigland Croft) of Wilmington, NC. Grandchildren: David Forrest Croft, Wilmington, NC; Megan McKechnie Croft, Charlotte, NC; Benjamin Kirk Croft, Bentonville, AR; Adam Tanner Croft, Charleston, SC; Ashlyn Jinnette Barrett (m. Riley Emerson Barrett), Columbia, SC. Loving niece, Lillie Jinnette (Vick) Carter (m. David Andrew Carter) and nephew, Charles Archer Vick (m. Shanda Casey Vick), all of Alpharetta, GA.
June Croft was a graduate of UNC-Greensboro, formally The Women’s College of UNC, with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1957. She taught Home Economics at Goldsboro Middle School. Married in 1959 to Frank Wilfred Croft, and is survived by three children, five grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
June never met a stranger, and everyone she met was a friend. She was independent, was able to and preferred to live alone. She took care of her house and yard, and on occasion you could see her cutting the grass on her riding lawnmower. Not bad for a 90-year old! June loved her family and held them as the most important thing in her life, especially her grandchildren. She maintained ties to her home town in Seaboard, NC and often spoke with her friend, Nelson Davis, who would tell her about the river farm and the local happenings in town. June loved her doctor, Dr. Catherine Daum, her “family” at Dr. Ben Smith’s office and Dr. Brian Jackson’s office, her friends at Walmart, Food Lion, PNC Bank, and her hairdresser, Robin Hansley.
June was a loving mother, always there for her children. She will be missed.
The family will receive visitors from 4-6pm, Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in June’s memory to your local Humane Society, ASPCA, or Pawsplace.
