Margie Mae Hilburn (Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park)

WILMINGTON — Margie Mae Hilburn was welcomed by her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2025, at the age of 104 in Wilmington, NC.

Born on January 16, 1921, she was the daughter of Eric E. Page and Mary Sallie Medlin. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Hilburn Sr.; her son, Leon Hilburn Jr.; and her sisters, Mary Ruth Watts and Joyce Lennon.

She is survived by her son, Alan Hilburn Sr.; grandchildren Alan Hilburn Jr. and Jeff Harned Sr. (Terri); great-grandchildren Nick Hilburn and Jeffrey Harned Jr.; and great-great-granddaughter Emma Grace Harned. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as bonus grandchildren Ashley and Ed Foster and Matt and Jennifer Foster.

Affectionately known as “Granny” to almost everyone, Margie lived an amazingly long and joyful life. She always had a smile on her face and cherished spending time with her family. She loved hosting gatherings and had an undeniable sweet tooth, especially for her beloved Werther’s candies. She will be remembered for the twinkle in her eyes, her thoughtfulness toward others, and her unwavering faith in God.

Pallbearers will be Ed Foster, Matt Foster, Nick Hilburn, Neil Castles, Zac Castles and Jeffrey Harned Jr.

A visitation for Margie will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.

Funeral Service will start at 2:00pm on Sunday March 2, 2025 in the Coble Chapel. Interment will follow at Cape Fear Baptist Church Cemetery, 2587 Neils Eddy Road, Riegelwood, North Carolina 28456.
