Cecil Roscoe Suggs (Wilmington Funeral & Cremation)

WILMINGTON — Cecil Roscoe Suggs passed away Wednesday morning February 19, 2025. He was 78 years old and passed peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children.

Cecil was born in Mullins SC and moved to Wilmington as a young boy. He lived in the Myrtle Grove area since 1970 where he raised his family.

From 1972-1982 Cecil and his brother Joe owned and operated East Coast Choppers where they built custom motorcycles. They won many awards and trophies for their pioneering work in motorcycle fabrication and design.

He loved to drive and he traveled the country many times over enjoying its majesty and beauty. He also traveled the world for his work with QPI, QCI, Penpower and Transglobal where he built and repaired power plants from the US, Mexico and as far away as Russia.

He loved his work as a mechanic and an engineer but he loved his family even more. Cecil is survived by Arlene, his wife of 36 years, his two daughters Angela Tomlinson and Kellie Suggs, his sons and their wives Eliot and Tierney Suggs, John and Christina Suggs, and Daniel Suggs and fiance Dana Craig. Cecil was also survived by five grandchildren, Michael, Daisy, Alexis,Troy and Logan, and siblings, Betty Healy, James and Judy Suggs, Joe Suggs, Patricia and Don Deweese and Kellum Lewis.

The entire family is grateful for all the love and prayers they have received.

There will be a small private family funeral for Cecil in the coming weeks.
