WILMINGTON — Hazeline Edwards Anderson passed peacefully from this world into her eternal home in heaven on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
She was born in Aurora, NC, on April 24, 1928, the daughter of Rufus Grainger Edwards and Reatha Price Edwards.
Hazel was a woman of immense compassion and unwavering devotion. Her love for her family and friends was a constant, a guiding light that touched and enriched the lives of those who knew and loved her.
She owned Tiny World Children’s Store from 1972 to 2000, taught Sunday School, and was a faithful Winter Park Baptist Church member.
She cherished her home at Wrightsville Beach, the art of cooking and baking, and found joy in family gatherings. But above all, her heart overflowed with love for Jesus, her family, and her friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Filmore (Flo) Anderson, sister, Celia Edwards Yarborough, and brother, John Calvin Edwards. Left to cherish her memory are Linda Anderson MacCallum (David-deceased) of Castle Hayne, N.C.; Fil Anderson (Lucie) of Greensboro, NC; Steve Anderson (Buffy) of Wilmington, NC; Susan Anderson of Wilmington, NC; seven grandchildren, Lisa MacCallum Buie (Bill), David MacCallum (Misty), Meredith Anderson Miller (Gabe), Will Anderson (Katie), Lee Anderson (Emily), John Anderson (Sarah), and Parker Anderson; twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winter Park Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the Bradley Creek Health Center and Lower Cape Fear Life Care staff and her sitters for their exceptional care and enduring support. Their dedication brought comfort and peace to Hazel’s final days.
