WILMINGTON — Marjorie Farrow Hinson, 90, of Burgaw, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington.
Marjorie was born in Wilmington on September 16, 1934, to the late Ralph and Louise (George) Farrow.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory are her three sons, Robert Earl Hinson Jr. and wife, Doris, Charles Thomas Hinson, Sr. and wife, Shelly, Donald Ray Hinson, Sr. and wife, Donna; brother, Danny Farrow and wife, Beth; grandchildren, Michelle, Adam, Stephanie, Rebecca, Donnie, Jr., Tommy, Jr., Sara, Hannah, Lauren, Jennifer, Tina; twenty-two great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and many other loved ones, including family and friends.
Marjorie was a dedicated member of the Latter-Day Saints Church and an active participant in the Wilmington First Ward. Born into a family of fishermen, she grew up in humble conditions on Masonboro Sound. As the family historian, she meticulously preserved their legacy. Marjorie was deeply loved by God and her family and remained a faithful servant throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Hinson, Sr.; her sisters, Shirley Mckinney and Joan Arms.
A service will be held 12:00PM, Monday February 17, 2025, at the Wilmington First Ward LDS Church 514 S College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28403. The family will receive family and friends an hour prior to the service at 11:00 AM.
Marjorie will be buried following the service at Nelson T Mily Cemetery, 1361 Old Fayetteville Rd, Leland, NC 28451, located behind The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
