WILMINGTON — Laurene “Laurie” Saunders Schneider passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, at the age of 63 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on February 2, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan, Laurie brought light and joy to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and love.
Laurie found her calling in the world of real estate, where she proudly served the Wilmington community as a dedicated Real Estate Broker. Her commitment to helping others find their perfect homes reflected her deep care for her clients and community. Those who had the privilege of working with her knew her as an exceptional professional with an unwavering dedication to her work.
Laurie was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence W. Saunders, who she held dearly in her heart. She leaves behind a loving family and cherished friends, including her mother, Judith Saunders Hanson, her beloved son James Powell, her supportive sister Pam Hardison and husband Steve, and her two brothers, Craig and Paul Saunders, all residing in Wilmington.
At this time, a celebration of Laurie’s remarkable life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together in remembrance of the joy and warmth she shared.
