SOUTHPORT — Jonathan William Bauer, 42, of Southport, NC, passed away at 4:18 am, on February 4, 2025, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, in Southport, NC.
Jonathan was born on October 2, 1982, in Atlanta, Ga. to Butch Bauer and Suzanne Rhett Dyson. He went to school at Cabarrus County High School in Cabarrus County, NC.
He married Mella Bauer on October 5, 2013 at McDowell Park in McDowell County, NC. He worked as a pizza chef for Phil and Tony’s Italian Bistro for 6 years before working for Vocational Solutions in Charlotte, NC.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jack and Margaret Fennell and his mother, Suzanne Rhett Dyson.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Mella Bauer; father, Butch Bauer; aunt, Deborah Zahn; grandmother, Anne Fennell and uncle, John Dyson.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be sent to Liberty Hospice in Supply, NC; Fix-a-Friend Veterinary Clinic in Winnabow, NC and The MS Society.
