OAK ISLAND — Beth Hart, 80, of Oak Island, NC, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025. Born December 10, 1944 in Cabarrus County, NC she was a daughter of Clyde and Edith Goodman.
She was married for 54 years to her husband, Sid Hart. She was a member of Oak Island Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. She was a part of the worship team at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Monroe, NC, where she played piano and organ as well as singing. She was very attentive to her children’s activities at church and in the community. Beth loved animals, domestic and wild. She was also a good cook. Beth retired from working as a labor and delivery tech at Carolinas Medical Center-Union prior to moving to Oak Island to live out her days listening to the waves from her back porch.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Laura Rowland and husband, Josh; a son, Randy Tarleton and wife, Sue; her grandchildren, Chloe, Carson, and Carleigh; her nieces, Lelani Cress, and Donna Yates and husband,Donnie; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Beth was predeceased by her brother, Jerry “Jeep” Goodman and his wife, Betty Jean.
A graveside service will be held at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Monroe on February 3, 2025 at 2pm. A memorial service will be held at Oak Island Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Oak Island on February 5 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers donations are welcomed at Oak Island Evangelical Presbyterian Church in her memory as well as Coastal Bringing Up Down Syndrome of SENC in honor of her grandson Carson Rowland.
