BURGAW — Terry Lloyd Davis Sr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Burgaw, passed away on January 18, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 71. Born on October 27, 1953, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Terry lived a life full of adventure and service.
Terry was a man of many talents, often described as a “jack of all trades.” His diverse skills and interests reflected his vibrant personality. He was an avid guitar player, who found joy in strumming melodies that brought happiness to those around him. A passionate surfer, Terry embraced the waves with enthusiasm and grace. In quieter moments, he enjoyed the simple pleasure of playing solitaire.
A proud veteran, Terry was a member of United States Army during the Vietnam Era. His dedication to service extended beyond the military, as he was also a member of the American Honor Guards and Rolling Thunder NC 3. Additionally, Terry found strength and community through his participation in Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Davis and Jencie (Boyles) Davis and brothers Solon (Bud) Davis, and Bill Davis.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Patsy (George) Davis; his son Terry (TJ) Davis Jr., daughter, Wendy Baker and husband Vonnie Baker, his granddaughters, Chloe, Lillian, and Adelyn, brother Roby Davis, and sister Lu Williams. They will remember him as a loving and supportive presence in their lives.
Services to honor and celebrate Terry’s life are currently pending and will be announced soon. His family invites all who knew him to join them in remembering a life well-lived.
Terry Lloyd Davis Sr. will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
