WILMINGTON — James Nicholas Prosser Sr. passed away on January 18, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife Charlene in 1996.
James was born to Marion H. Prosser and Edith N. Prosser on February 25, 1935 in Covington Virginia. He spent most of his early years growing up in Baltimore, Maryland. He migrated with his wife and young son to Wilmington in 1960 to work with his brother Bill at Tinney Engineering as a tool and die maker and machinist. Wilmington became home and he worked in the trade for 38 years. Jim was later employed by General Electric.
Jim was a Boy Scout Leader, a long standing member of the Elks Lodge and a member of Local IBEW #495. He enjoyed scuba diving, the thrill of the hunt of a good yard sale and quality time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his four sons and their wives, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
