SOUTHPORT — Dennis Lee Myers, 84, of Southport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024.
Born on October 16, 1940, in York, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Charles and Hazel Myers. Known affectionately as “Denny,” he graduated from Drexel Institute of Technology and built a 31-year career as a software engineer at DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware.
Denny married his wife, Lois, in November 1974, and they shared 50 years of love, laughter, and companionship. An artist at heart, Denny discovered his passion for pottery after retiring in Southport, NC.
He enjoyed creating and sharing his work with the community at Franklin Square Gallery.
Denny’s kind smile and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by Lois; his daughter Kelly Umstead and her husband, Nathan, of Raleigh, NC, along with their children, Ivan and Quincy; and his daughter, Kristy Myers of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his brother, Terry Myers, and his wife, Deb, of Lancaster, PA, and his sister, Vicki Wendt, and her husband, Dale, of Brogue, PA.
May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
The family will be holding a private ceremony at a later date.
