WILMINGTON — Parmalee Justice Insco, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 87. Born on March 25, 1937, in Onslow County, Parmalee lived a life marked by dedication to her family and her work.
A graduate of New Hanover High School, Parmalee found her calling as a Medical Assistant, where she devoted many years to caring for others with compassion and diligence. Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her deep faith as a devout Baptist, which guided her throughout her life.
Parmalee was known for her frugality, a trait that reflected her practical nature and her appreciation for the simple things in life. She was a woman of strong values, instilling these principles in her family through her actions and her words.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Buck Justice, Sr. and Edna Parker Justice; her daughter, Deborah Insco Edwards; and her brother, James Buck Justice, Jr., along with his wife, Dora. Parmalee’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her son, Greg Insco, and his wife, Tina; her brother, Freddy Justice; her sister, Phyllis Futch, who was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; and her grandson, Chris Edwards.
Family and friends are invited to honor Parmalee’s life at a funeral service on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, located at 1535 S. 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Parmalee will be laid to rest at Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery, 2111 Clarks Landing Loop Rd, Rocky Point, NC 28457.
