HAMPSTEAD — Howard “Buck” Shoaf, 76, of Hampstead, NC, died Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at his home.
He was born on January 14, 1948, in Lexington, NC, the son of the late Woodrow McKay Shoaf and Dorothy “Hot Dot” Biesecker Shoaf.
Buck graduated from North Forsyth High School. He was a veteran of the US Marines and the US Army where he was a Drill Sergeant at the time of his discharge. He was also the owner and operator of Stingray Auto Repair.
Surviving is his son, Buckley Shoaf of Hampstead, NC; two sisters, Julie Kay Mize of Southmont, NC, and Jamie Shoaf of Venice, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his former wife, Jane Kwasniewski and her children.
The family wishes to express a special note of thanks to longtime friends, Dale Allen Flynt and Kermit Merrit.
Buck will be remembered as someone who always made everyone feel at home and safe!!
