WILMINGTON — Jeffrey Hilliard Carter, affectionately known as Jeff Carter, passed away peacefully in Wilmington, NC, on November 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 20, 1970, in Wilmington, Jeff was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity. He was 53 years old.
A proud graduate of the North Carolina State University School of Engineering in 1993, Jeff was an avid Wolfpack fan throughout his life. His career was spent as a dedicated Financial Adviser with Stifel, where he was valued for his integrity, expertise, and commitment to his clients.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jeff was a man of diverse interests and passions. He had a deep love of the outdoors and found joy traveling the world and exploring nature’s beauty whenever he could. Coaching and watching his children play brought him immense happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Lessie Costin Carter, and his brother, Hugh Keith.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold his memory close: his wife of 22 years, Dawn LeFevers Carter; his beloved daughters, Kaiya and Lila Carter; his cherished sons, Luke and Koen Carter; his brothers, Dennis and Randall Carter, Andy Keith; and his sisters, Sheila Walker and Linda Carroll.
Family, friends, and all who knew Jeff are invited to celebrate his life at a service held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. The family will be receiving friends following the service.
Jeff’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering faith in those he held dear. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
