SOUTHPORT — Paul Lowe Foster, 95 of Southport, North Carolina died Saturday, November 2, 2024 at his home.
Paul was born in New York City, the only child of the late Vice Admiral Paul Frederick Foster USN and Broadway stage star Mary Isabelle de la Vincendiere Lowe. He earned his BA degree from Northwestern University in 1950 and entered the United States Navy where, through nearly three decades of extraordinary service, he attained the rank of Rear Admiral. While in the Navy he earned his MBA degree from George Washington University, and eventually his Ph.D. at The University of Virginia Darden School.
Paul retired and left uniformed service in 1979 for the academic world becoming the founding Dean of the Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, and then served as a Professor of Finance until 2006.
Following retirement, he and his wife Corolyn moved to Southport, North Carolina, thoroughly enjoying the St. James and Southport amenities of life.
Survivors include his loving wife Corolyn Clark Foster of Southport, North Carolina; daughter, Cynthia Foster Hinshaw and husband Greg of Raleigh, North Carolina; son, Paul Richard Foster and wife ViAnn of Brunswick, Georgia; grandchildren, Laura Hinshaw of Raleigh, North Carolina, Andrea Hinshaw, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Paul James Foster and wife Rachel of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Kelsey Foster of Provo, Utah, Cheyenne Foster of Brunswick, Georgia, and McKenzie Foster of Salt Lake City, Utah; great grandchildren, Paul Graham Foster of Sharpsburg, Georgia and Cecilia Foster of Sharpsburg, Georgia.
