CAROLINA BEACH — In the morning hours of November 5th, surrounded by his family, Kenny gained his angel wings.
Born January 16th, 1967, and raised in Swansboro, NC he grew up loving the outdoors and spending as much time outside as he could. From surfing the waves of the Crystal Coast to riding his dirt bike in the North Carolina Mountains and boating through the channels of the Intracoastal Waterway. Kenny was a true outdoors man even taking his showers outside year-round. He worked for many years as an auto mechanic, and most recently a generator technician at Sun Belt (formerly Filmwerks in Rocky Point). Kenny enjoyed working with his hands and mastered whatever task he put his mind to, he had a soul of determination.
He is survived by his parents Bobby and Faye Wells of Swansboro, brother Robbie Wells (Margaret) of Cape Carteret, wife and love of his life Regina Wells and their beloved dog, Caicos of the home, two daughters Kayla Merck (Michael) of Wilmington, Lyndsie Hutson (Joe) of Castle Hayne, five grandchildren Joselyn Hutson, Nash Merck, Leila Hutson, Penelope Merck, and Norah Merck. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and in-laws. He had many long-lasting and special friendships, all of which he cherished and considered family.
Kenny fought a hard battle against colon cancer with so much courage and strength, although our hearts ache we are at peace knowing he is no longer in pain and has been forever healed. Though his time on earth has ended, his love and memory will forever live on in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to ColonTown, an organization that brings hope, education, and connection to thousands of colorectal cancer patients.
