WILMINGTON — Nellie Catherine “Cathy” Ferguson, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 23, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Cathy was preceded in death by William “Bill” Pierson, Gerald Whitmire, William “WA” Ferguson; Children – Teri Usher, Grandson-in-Law, Chris Brock, Grandchild – Darbi Dean.
She is survived by; sister – Mary Ward; Children – Sherri Orcutt (Don), Dee Butts (Steve), Beth Medler (Dino); Grandchildren – Dawn Brock, Dana Schultz (Chris), Tyler Lewis (Carolynn), Jamie Hopper (Chris), Jessica Mack (Michael), Allison Mullinax (Guy), Abigale Frederick (Megan), Tommy Usher, Brogan King (Jacob), Josh Evans (Kaitlin), David Medler, Courtney Medler, Christopher Ballenger (Tailor); and 20 great- grandchildren.
Cathy will be remembered for her love of people and animals. She always was ready to help in any way she could. Enjoyed working in the yard, painting, crafting, reading books and was never too busy to make an apple pie for others on their birthday or just because.
Her grandsons would say, (Christopher) she always encouraged his artistic abilities and learning something new, (Andrew) each time they saw each other they would say, he had her blue eyes. Many of us know her for her creativity, sponkyness, and get up and go attitude. Cathy has made our lives better in many ways. Thinking of her bright blue eyes and warm smile will bring wonderful memories to mind. She is loved and knowing she’s with her Savior, Redeemer, Creator helps us all to have joy in our hearts as she’s missed in this life.
