WILMINGTON — James (Jimmy) Braddick Allen, Jr., 81, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Brooks Allen, a son, James Braddick Allen III, his parents Eleanor Lucile Wells and James Braddick Allen Sr, and a brother John Robert (Bobby) Allen.
Surviving are his three children, Jammie Stanley, Jay (Marian) Allen, Jennifer Allen (Billy Martin), two granddaughters: Beth Stanley and Krystal Stanley Huff, two grandsons: Thomas Allen, Michael Allen, one great grandson Walker Huff, three sisters: Judy Lewis, Ruth Neal and Dianne Hale and husband Andy, a sister-in-law Annette Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy graduated from New Hanover High School and served in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne. He was a skilled brick mason and obtained his general contractors license around 2000. He enjoyed playing pool and golf. Later in life he enjoyed creating art such as paintings and sculptures.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2024 at Gibson Avenue Baptist Church, 2037 Gibson Avenue, Wilmington. 28403.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gibson Avenue Baptist Church in Wilmington or to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
