William “Bill” Perry Hobbs, Sr. (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

HAMPSTEAD — William “Bill” Perry Hobbs, Sr., 77, of Hampstead, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Bill was born June 28, 1947 in Jacksonville, NC, a son of the late Lorenzo Dill Hobbs and Margie Hobbs. His three brothers, Joseph “Joe” , George, and Dane Hobbs and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Jo Ann Tyer, preceded him in death.

He was a devout man of God and loved serving the Lord in all parts of his life. He loved reading his Bible and teaching in his church. He proudly served his country in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam war and continued serving his community through disaster relief (Baptist on Mission). He loved working with his hands, tinkering in the garage, camping with family and friends and being in his boat on the saltwater. He was a man of great humor, wisdom, hard-work but his greatest passion and joy was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia “Pat” Rochelle Hobbs; his son and two daughters and their spouses, Lori (John), Billy (Amanda) and Crissy (Dan); his six grandchildren and their spouses, John Jr. (Hanna), Andrew (Caitlin), Garrison, Alexandra, William and Febe; and his four great grandchildren, Lacy, John III, Levi and Caroline. He also had countless extended family that will miss him greatly.

We would also like to take this time to thank Liberty Hospice and the VA Home Based Care along with the precious ones from First Light Home Care.
