BURGAW — Tommy Padgett, beloved Dad, Grandfather and Great Grandfather went to be with our Lord on September 23, 2024. We are truly blessed to have had you in our lives and will miss your Love and Guidance.
Tommy was born in Pender County to Norma and Isaac Padgett on September 11, 1934. He attended Penderlea School and there he met the love of his life, Essie Cole. They were married on September 25, 1954 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage until her passing in 2022.
Tommy is survived by a son Bryan Keith Padgett and wife Linda and a daughter Sherry Padgett Peedin and husband David. He was affectionately called “PaPa” by 3 grandchildren, Samantha Peedin Thompson (Daniel), Zachary Peedin (Elizabeth) and Sarah Peedin Bender (Greg). He was also lovingly known as “Old PaPa” to 5 great grandchildren.
Tommy owned and operated Padgett’s TV Sales and Service for many decades in Burgaw before retiring to Hampstead. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed living on the water. If he wasn’t fishing then he was happy talking about fishing and had many “fish tales”
Tommy was a lifelong member of Burgaw Baptist Church where he made many friends through the years. He truly cherished the fellowship of these friends. The family would also like to thank Home Instead for their compassionate care through the years. Many caregivers became family.
