WILMINGTON — Hayden Taylor Smith was born in Greensboro, NC on January 4, 1986, He passed peacefully at his home in Wilmington, NC. on Sep. 18, 2024. He was 38.
Hayden’s family lived in several cities; Oklahoma City, OK., Dillsburg, PA., and Richmond, VA. Hayden graduated Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City in 2004. Following high school, Hayden returned to Virginia and studied Business Administration at James Madison University. After JMU he remained in Northern Virginia, he then traveled back to North Carolina and settled in Wilmington.
Hayden passionately pursued excellence as a Body Builder. His interest reached beyond physical development, he spent many hours studying the science, physiology, and nutritional requirements associated with the sport. Another passion was his interest in Culinary Arts. He was an excellent cook. He enjoyed sharing a good meal, discussing food preparation techniques and sharing his extensive knowledge of seasoning ingredients, spices, and condiments.
Above all, Hayden loved the Lord. He dedicated his life to Jesus as a teenager and was baptized later in life. He was blessed with a big heart and a warm smile. His family was very important to him as were the many friendships he made throughout his life. Both family and friends enjoyed his wit and playful exchanges.
Hayden is survived by parents, Larry and Teena Smith; his brother Lee Smith, sister in-law Cheryl Smith and nieces Emma and Madeline, along with several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
