WILMINGTON — Pamela Nixon Stone was born in February 1927 in Wayne Township, NJ to Pamela and Fredrick Nixon.
She has 1 surviving sister, Janice Jenkins. Her husband, James L Stone Jr., left her side in 2016 after 66 years of marriage. She has 4 surviving children, Wendy D Austin, James L Stone III, Pamela T Stone and Faith S McNitt. Her son, Fredrick W Stone, predeceased her. She has many grandchildren, great and great/great grandchildren.
She was an animal lover and almost always had horses, dogs or cats, along with her children’s assortment of animals as they grew up. Her kitty, Lilly, was a great source of happiness in her later years.
Pam had a busy and rewarding 97 years of life. She lived in over a dozen places before she and her husband chose to live their golden years in Porters Neck Village, Wilmington, NC. She studied at Kent State and later took a BA degree in Education at Villa Maria. She worked with special needs kids and young adults and later did volunteer work for Hospice. Pam traveled extensively with Jim all over the country in their motor home and made several trips to Europe. She was dedicated to her family and friends and gave generously to her favorite charities.
Pam Stone passed away under Hospice care September 16, 2024.
