WILMINGTON — Lynne Davis Jenks, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on November 29, 1950, in Wilmington, she was 73 years old at the time of her passing.
Lynne graduated from New Hanover High School and went on to have a fulfilling career. She worked at Century Mills before retiring from the YWCA, where she served as an administrative assistant.
Lynne loved her family and spending time with them, she enjoyed sitting on her porch watching nature, birds and animals or just enjoying a rainstorm. She loved cooking for her family and reading in her leisure time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster Porter Davis, Jr. and Oneita Salyer Davis, husband Henry Douglas Jenks, and her son, Francis B. Jacobs, IV.
Lynne’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her daughter Tonya Dugan and husband Timothy; her sons Jason Douglas Jenks and Kent Allen Jenks; her grandchildren Christian Jenks and wife Emily, Cassie Jenks and husband Logan, Jackson Hylton, Chelsea Dugan, and Savanah Dugan; great grandson Jameson Jenks; her daughter-in-law Angie Jenks; as well as her extended family members and friends.
Lynne will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her enduring spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
