Jozef Jachimiec (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Jozef Jachimiec, 86, of Marlborough, CT, beloved husband of Stefania Jachimiec, entered into eternal rest on September 18, 2024. He was born in Dębica, Poland and moved his family to Hartford, CT in Feb 1972.

Prior to his retirement, Jozef worked at Colt Manufacturing for 30 years. He was a devoted member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford. Jozef enjoyed traveling in his retirement, visiting many countries with his beloved wife and closest friends. His favorite places were Alaska, Monaco, Greece, Paris and numerous other wonderful destinations, collecting baseball hats from each trip. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, his favorite game was ‘21’. Jozef was also an avid UConn College Basketball fan and Dallas Cowboy fan.

Jozef enjoyed the outdoors; he took pride in his home and especially loved gardening. A fond memory for the family includes picking from his many blueberry bushes and eating “Dziadziu’s famous pickles” made from produce in his garden.

Above all, family meant everything to Jozef, he was inseparable from his wife and treasured his children and grandchildren. His children fondly remember his love of spontaneous adventures, often times just jumping in the car and ending up states away exploring new places. He instilled a love of fun, adventure, and travel in his children.

Jozef is survived by his loving wife, Stefania; his children Andrew Jachimiec and his wife Evelyn, Halina Weintraub and her husband Daniel, Bogdan Jachimiec and his wife Phonesiry. His beloved grandchildren Justin Jachimiec, Joshua Weintraub and his wife Rachel, Holly Wall and her husband Christopher, and Jake Jachimiec. His great-grandchildren Krystian Wall and Jackson Weintraub. Jozef also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in both the United States and Poland.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary, 412 Ann Street, Wilmington, NC 28401, with Rev. Tom Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park, 17750 Highway 17 North, Hampstead, NC 28443.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jozef’s memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
