June White Ingram, 69

June White Ingram (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Beloved June White Ingram, lifelong Wilmingtonian, died in peace at New Hanover Regional Medical Center on August 3, 2024.

Adored mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend, June was born to the late Charles Ellis White, Jr., and the late Kathryn Perdew White Minnick at the former Babies Hospital on April 21, 1955, continuing a long line of strong Southern women. She was a source of love and acceptance to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

June was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Perdew White, brother, Charles Ellis White III, and niece, Christie White.

She was a graduate of New Hanover High School and attended Appalachian State University, the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and UNC-Wilmington. During these years, she discovered her love of art and made friendships that would last a lifetime. Throughout her life, she brightened the lives of everyone she met and helped support her community working at a small business and volunteering, including with the Girl Scouts of the USA and multiple schools in the area. She served as Secretary for School Kids Records and New Horizons Elementary School and spent the last 20 years of her life proudly serving as Office Manager for Copley Investment Management. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church.

June was the center of her family and brought kindness and generosity to all she loved. She was a steadfast mother, daughter, and friend, always showing up with a listening ear and tenderness to care for those she loved. June had a special passion for the arts that she shared with her daughters and was an accomplished jeweler, sculptor, and art collector. When each of her daughters were born, she personally created rings with their birthstone that she saved for them as a gift upon graduation. She found joy in giving thoughtful gifts and made both big and small occasions special and meaningful. June especially loved celebrating holidays and would spend months preparing by filling her home with decorations and finding the perfect gifts for each of her loved ones. She delighted in living by the beach and many of her family’s most treasured memories were created through her love of swimming, boating, fishing, and water skiing. June loved visiting her grandsons in the North Carolina mountains and was filled with pride to be their “Nana.”

No matter what struggles and losses she experienced throughout her life, she never lost her steady patience with others nor her loving, open heart. June’s memory will be treasured, and her spirit will remain a source of love and inspiration to family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters Shannon Perdew Ingram of the home and Kelly Ingram Pierson, her husband Jonathan Pierson, and their two children Oliver and Elliot of Boone, NC, her nieces Beth White Bailey and her husband Chad Bailey of Elberton, GA, Ashley White Betanzos and her husband Freddie Betanzo of Atlanta, GA, Courtney Wait and her partner Rhett Murphy of Asheville, and Kathryn Wait Koning, her husband Sander Koning, and their two daughters of Clemson, SC.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church on September 21 at 11 a.m. The family will accept friends prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Donations can be made in her memory to The Harrelson Center.
