SOUTHPORT — Tony Christopher Emory, age 70, of Southport, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Tony was born January 31, 1954 in Durham, NC, son of the late George and Effie Emory.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sharon Emory; two daughters, Brittany Cole and Holly Olive; a step-son, Brandon Jones; two grandchildren, Zoe Cole and Pierson Cole; and a nephew, Scott Moore.
Tony was charismatic and full of life. He could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He loved to be social and make people laugh. In 2020, he made his lifelong dream of living at the beach come true and enjoyed every minute of it. He could talk and be friends with anyone. He so much enjoyed spending time with his friends in Southport/Oak Island and Raleigh.
He was resilient, hard working, and stubborn with the biggest, softest heart. His wife, Sharon, was the love of his life. He protected and loved her fiercely. His daughter, Brittany, was his Baby Girl. They were inseparable since the moment she was born. He was technically a step father to Brandon but he loved “Bud” just as much as his own children and thought of him as his own son. Not only was he the best father but an amazing “Papu”. His whole heart belonged to his Doodle Bug, Zoe, and Little Man, Pierson. May his memory live on in the laughter, smiles, and love that he brought to everyone who knew him.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
