WILMINGTON — Lee Davis Weddle, Sr., 82, of Clinton, NC, formerly of Wilmington, NC, passed away on July 30, 2024, following a ten-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on February 25, 1942, in Ashland, KY, to Clifford E. and Dorothy M. Weddle.

Lee graduated from Wake Forest University and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. After college, he proudly served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He had a notable career, serving as Audit Partner at Lowrimore, Warwick and Co., the first CFO of AAI Pharma, founder of Financial Management Resources, and a commercial real estate broker with Coldwell Banker.

Active in his community, Lee was president of the 1991 NC Azalea Festival, chairman of the Wilmington Housing Authority, and a board member of the YMCA in Wilmington and Clinton. He was also deeply involved in his church, teaching Sunday school, leading the church council, and serving as a Via de Cristo rector.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Bettielou Schutt Weddle; his son and daughter-in-law, Lee Davis Weddle Jr. and Shurley Ray McCullen Weddle of Clinton, NC; and several dear cousins.

Memorial donations are welcomed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wilmington, NC, or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Clinton, NC.
