BURGAW — On wings of an angel Lisa Michelle Rooks Alford, age 52, flew to her heavenly home on Friday morning, August 2, 2024. She was at home surrounded by family who dearly loved her.
Lisa was born January 1, 1972, in Burgaw, the daughter of Lorace James “Jimmy” Rooks and Maythie Lynn Housand.
Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Robert Alford; sons, Thomas Robert Alford, Jr. and wife, Katelyn and Jacob Thomas Alford and wife, Kyndall; mother, Maythie Lynn Housand; father, Lorace James “Jimmy” Rooks and his wife, Susan; sisters, Jaimee Munoz (Rudy) and Hanna Huertas (Luke); brother, Joshua Rooks; many extended family and friends, all who loved Lisa.
Most recently Lisa faithfully attended Bridge of Life in Leland where she worshiped and sang praises to Jesus.
Lisa was a great lady of God who loved Jesus with all her heart. She was an excellent homemaker who excelled in gardening, canning, and cooking. She was a farmer at heart, loving all of God’s creations, especially her animals. Most of all Lisa loved her family. Lisa was a bright ray of sunshine to everyone she encountered. She was dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure.
