Fred Douglas Parker, 73

Fred Douglas Parker (Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care)

WILMINGTON — Fred Douglas Parker, 73, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at home.

Fred was born to George and Edna Parker on July 1st, 1951 in Mt. Olive, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife Teresa Parker, his son Wesley Parker and his wife Allison, his daughter Teasha Clark and her husband Jeff, his two Grandsons, Andrew and Griffin Clark, his brother George Parker Jr. and his wife Fran, and his sister Betty Lou Bradsher and husband Sammy. He also leaves behind his two dogs, Rowdy and Rosey, all who will miss him dearly.

Fred was a man who deeply cared for his family. There wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for them, no matter the cost. He was one of those men who would not hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. Fred was a man who was very strong in his faith, and lived a life he thought was fitting for a Christian man. Fred never met a stranger, and there was rarely an outing where he didn’t run into someone he knew. Fred loved the beach, evident by his notoriously dark tan.

Fred had a passion for muscle cars, buying, selling, and fixing up many of them over the years. He even held his own car show at the Wilmington Convention Center. He had a love for racing whether that be drag racing or NASCAR. He also enjoyed collecting guns, and watching historical shows and movies.

Fred’s biggest pride was his family. He never missed a chance to brag on or talk about his wife, children, or grandchildren. He loved us all very deeply, and we will all miss him very much.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 22 at 6 p.m., at the Beach Community Church, in Carolina Beach, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all gifts be made out to the New Hanover County Humane Society.
