WILMINGTON — Pearl B. Cooke Grant, 97, of Wilmington, NC formerly of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024. On January 16, 1927, John Rhodes Boney and Nannie George Boney welcomed their daughter, Pearl, who was born and raised in Warsaw, NC. She graduated Warsaw High School.
Pearl was the most loving mother, she lived life to the fullest, she loved her family and enjoyed playing cards. Anyone who had the joy of knowing Pearl knows she was a real firecracker!
She and her first husband, the late Herbert Lee Cooke, had four children, her 2 late twin sons, Jimmy and Johnny Cooke, and 2 daughters, Lou and her husband Jim Huyck and Sharon Cooke. Pearl and her second husband, the late Mike Grant, had one son, Michael and his wife, Kristina Grant, and Pearl’s step-daughter, Deb Anderson.
She is also survived by her sister, Martha Pruitt, she was preceded in death by her other siblings Victoria, Wilbert, Myrle, Jack, Mary. Pearl’s loving family also includes her 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
