HAMPSTEAD — Carolyn Ann McGhee, born on August 24, 1953, in Richmond, Virginia, passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 70, in Hampstead, North Carolina.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur McGhee and the loving daughter of the late Geneva Marie Huffman. Carolyn is survived by her beloved fur baby, Cody, her brother, Vernon Shiflett, her children Leonard “Bubba” Brookman & wife Tammy, Billy Brookman & wife Tammy, and Marie Steinman & husband Keith. She was a cherished “MOM” to many others, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her brother, Wilber Shiflett.
Born and raised in Henrico County, VA, Carolyn moved to North Carolina in 1984 and made Hampstead her home. She was known for her love of playing games on her iPad and always had a pack of Wrigley’s gum on hand.
Carolyn’s warm smile and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
