WILMINGTON — Frederica (Freddie) Mazzola was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away rather suddenly on June 3rd, 2024 at the age of 72.
She is predeceased by her parents Fred and Leona Guarino, and sister Marie Petito. Freddie is survived by her husband Donald, children, Brian and Scott, grandchildren, Sydney and Brady, brothers-in-law, Henry Petito and Steve Mazzola, sister-in-law, Lucy Mazzola, and nephew and niece, Paul and Diane.
Freddie was born and raised in Rochester, NY and spent the majority of her life there. She graduated from East High School in 1969, married Don in 1972, and spent 20+ years working for Key Bank. Upon retirement in 2017, Don and Freddie relocated to Wilmington, NC.
Freddie devoted her life to loving and nurturing her sons and grandchildren. She loved spending time in the kitchen and was a phenomenal cook. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with, and spoiling, those she cared about. She was active in the Fairport Little League Booster Club and Board of Directors. Later in life she became an avid pickleball player, traveler, and was active in many social groups. Freddie was truly loved by all her friends and family. It was a rare occasion to not be laughing or smiling when spending time with Freddie.
