WILMINGTON — In loving memory of our mother, Ann Elizabeth Jones Buie, who passed away on February 17, 2024 in Wilmington, NC
Ann, peacefully passed away on Feb 17, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Ann was born on April 8, 1946 in Fayetteville, NC to John Wayland Jones, Sr. and Elizabeth Greene Jones.
Ann joins her parents, John Wayland Jones, Sr. and Elizabeth Greene Jones and her sister, Carolyn Jones Core, in Heaven.
She is survived by her two sons James C Buie, Jr (Miriam) and Anthony Wayne Buie, her grandchildren Joshua Buie, Elizabeth Buie, Amber Buie, and great grandchildren Jayden Cruze Buie and Chase Griffin. In addition, she is survived by sister Peggy McKinney (James) and brother John Wayland Jones, Jr. (Teresa)
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. As a strong woman, she faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
At Ann’s request, we will honor her in a celebration of life as opposed to traditional funeral services.
