WILMINGTON — After eighty-nine years on earth, the Spirit of our beloved Coy was called home by his Lord Jesus.
He is survived by his Wife of 64 years Renate Hildegard Norris, his Son Andy and wife Lisa and dearly loved grandchildren – Conner and; Molly, and his Brothers Larry Norris and wife Linda, Carl Norris and; wife Jan, Danny Norris & wife Cindy, Tony Norris & wife Mary-Jean and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents Charlie Geddis Norris, Sr. and wife Eunice Montgomery Norris, his Brothers CG (Sam), Wayne, Kenneth, Earl, Fred, and Jerry Norris, and Sisters Patsy Mitchel, Polly Surles, Emma Overman, and Jean Scott. Coy loved everyone, was a wonderful Dad “Opa”, and mentor to many.
Coy and Renate are members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Coy was Combat Engineer for US Army who served in Germany receiving two medals. He had a 40-year management career with both Old Dominion Box and Crown Box Corp. retiring in 2008. Coy held faith; family deep in his heart. He was quick with a joke and quite the handyman. Coy fostered long lasting friendships, positively influencing the lives of so many. His legacy will be remembered.

come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday March 6, 2024 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel and the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home before the service. A second service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday March 7, 2024 at Pine Hill cemetery in Burlington, NC and the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home.
