ROCKY POINT — Elizabeth “Betty” Quigley, age 85, of Rocky Point and formerly of New York passed gently from her earthly life Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at home.
She was born February 13, 1938 in Harriman, New York. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Quigley.
Betty is survived by her sons, Joseph Quigley (Monica), Thomas “Tom” Quigley (Hillary), James “Jim” Quigley (Lisa), and Paul Quigley; six grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Betty was a devout and faithful catholic and for many years was very active in the Altar Rosary Society at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY. The Rosary Society is both spiritual and social and acts as an organizer and assisting in parish events.
She was a loving mother to her five sons, a wonderful grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Betty loved animals, enjoyed sunshine, participating in events at Pender Adult Services, and just being outdoors in God’s beautiful world of nature. Her presence in our lives will surely be missed.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel. Deacon Michael Vandiver of Transfiguration of Jesus Catholic Church will conduct the service. Following the service the family will receive friends.
Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family here.
