CAROLINA BEACH — Mark Sparks left us on January 9, 2024 at the age of 66.
To honor Mark’s memory, we are holding a celebration of his life on January 28, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the El Calzador in Carolina Beach, North Carolina.
Mark was born on November 12, 1957 to Eugene and Eileen Sparks in Salem, New Jersey. Mark had a passion for music, nature, dogs and family.
Mark had three wonderful sisters: Gene Anna McMillan (OJ) of Sacramento, California, Connie Mills (Mark) of Marietta, Georgia, and Mary Southall (Joe) of Ackworth, Georgia. Mark also leaves behind a brother, Michael Sparks (Kathy) of Winchester, Tennessee.
Mark leaves behind his loving wife, Ronda, and two sons, Walker and Axton. He also leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren (Kimberly, Ridley and Carter) and the world’s saddest dog, Myrna.
Mark always had a kind word, an open ear, a loving heart and a faithful dog by his side. His heart was his family, and he devoted his life to them. His humor, spirit and character live on in his children and grandchildren.
He was a master carpenter and storyteller, and did both with joy and skill. He manned the oyster roasts with precision and was always there to lend a hand to a friend of neighbor.
Mark will be deeply missed by everyone.
