SOUTHPORT — Sandy Tuminelli, age 76, of Southport, North Carolina peacefully passed away embraced by her husband Pete on Thursday, morning October 26, 2023.
Mrs. Tuminelli was born September 3, 1947 in Passaic, NJ, daughter of the late Steven and Helen Bocskay of Garfield, NJ.
Sandy was a beautiful and intelligent woman who loved her family and all who met her in life. She loved to travel, go skiing, and golf. But most of all, she loved the ladies of St. James with whom she played cards, did aerobics, and Yoga.
Sandy, a loving wife and mother who was always there for all of us. Good times and bad, never a whimper, just strength and love. There was love in her beauty and beauty in her love!
Sandy did accounting for Mandelbaum and Mandelbaum of West Orange, NJ. Steven Roth of Interstate Properties / Vornado brought Sandy into their company because of her work ethics and knowledge.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Peter Tuminelli, Sr.; two sons, Pete Tuminelli, Jr. of Leland, and Steven Tuminelli and wife Terri of Myrtle Beach, SC; Sandys loving sister, Toni Ellen Bocskay who was a blessing comforting her sister in her final days, Toni remains a lifelong resident of Garfield, NJ; and a sister-in-law Linda Annunziata and husband Anthony of Melbourne, FL.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the St. James Chapel. Following the service a reception will be held at The Members Club in St. James.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship Food Pantry, 249 W Boiling Spring Rd, Southport, NC 28461.
