WILMINGTON — Robert, (Bob), was born in Wilmington, NC on October 13, 1948 to Robert P Corbett Sr and Conva Joyce Corbett. He spent his youth playing baseball and hunting and fishing with his family and friends all around South Eastern NC.
He graduated from New Hanover High School in 1967 after which he joined the United States Coast Guard. On September 3 of that year, he married the love of his life, Teresa A Rollins. They then moved to Alexandria, VA where Bob proudly served on the Presidential Honor Guard for 18 months. Bob was then transferred across country to Seattle, WA where they would remain until the end of his military career.
Bob and Teresa moved back home to Wilmington to be with family and to raise their children, Christina A Corbett born May 22nd, 1968 and Robert P Corbett III born August 17th, 1970. He worked in the Food Service and Restaurant business most of his professional career, even owning two restaurants at one point. He lived a long, fulfilling life and leaves behind many cherished friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Pope Corbett Sr and Step Mother Margaret Corbett; his mother Conva Patty Kersey; his grandparents John David Patty and Anna Mae Patty that helped raise him.
He is survived by his life-long love and wife of 55 years, Teresa Corbett; Daughter Christina Renshaw (daughters Anna-Brooke and Jenna Chase); Son Robert P Corbett III, (wife Karen, son Ryder); Sister Terry Smith (husband Bob, children Ashley and Adam); sister Cindy Cane; Sister Kim Davis, (Husband Ralph, children Lacey and Jackson); as well as many Nieces and Nephews and other family that he loved dearly. He is also survived by his friends that he called his family at the B.P.O. Elks #532, The American Legion, as well as The Moose Lodge. He loved each and every one of you like family.
