BOLIVIA — Geneva Irene Combs Maricle went home to be with her Lord on May 29, 2022. She was born September 24, 1925, in Beattyville, Kentucky to Mary Kathryn Gentry Combs and Spencer Combs. She was next to the youngest child of eight brothers and two sisters, all of whom have preceded her in death: Gay Combs, Walter Combs, Troy Combs, Zola Combs, Otis Combs, Cordell Combs, Eugene Combs, Nevona Combs McMillan, and Jeanetta Combs Anderson.
She married David Richard Maricle on September 1, 1946. He passed away on September 17, 2009 at the age of 92.
Geneva is survived by two children, Janet Maricle Willetts and husband Jimmie Calvin Willetts of Winnabow, North Carolina, and David Wayne Maricle and wife, Kristen Cole Maricle of Boise, Idaho, one grandson Kevin Lee Willetts, Sr. and wife, Deborah Crouse Willetts, and one great grandson Kevin Lee Willetts, Jr. (KJ) of Winnabow, North Carolina.
Geneva (or “Jean” as she was known) enjoyed reading, singing, crocheting, camping, and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Bolivia, North Carolina. She has been a strong, steadfast Christian example for her family, and she will be fondly missed by her immediate family, numerous nieces and nephews, and may dear friends. Thank you Mom, for showing us “the way home”.
A Memorial service will be held at Faith Baptist church, 4455 US Highway 17 South, Bolivia, NC on June 12, 2022 with visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, and the Memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM. Rev. Clayton Rivenbark will officiate.
