WILMINGTON — Dorothy Craven Floyd, 70, passed away peacefully at her home April 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Revs. Roy and Betty Craven on October 8, 1951, in Wilmington, NC.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Barrett and her second husband Jimmy Floyd. Also, she was predeceased by her two sons, Baby Boy Barrett, and Robert Raymond Barrett III.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Barrett McCaskill (Deryll), sons: Zach and Jonny Floyd; three grandchildren: Robert McCaskill (Barbara), Stephanie McCaskill (Matthew) and Deryll McCaskill II; five brothers: Edward, Joe, Allen, Larry, and David Craven; sister: Suzette Carswell; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was very passionate about her family, grandchildren, and her church family from Seagate Pentecostal. She selflessly gave herself to her volunteer work at school, church and to many others.
A memorial service will be held at Seagate Pentecostal, located at 237 Bagley Avenue, Wilmington NC, April 30, 2022, at 2:00 PM. The service will be conducted by Rev. Gwen Craven and Pastor Robert Saunders. Flowers may be sent directly to Seagate Pentecostal on Saturday morning.
